We lost power at 6 in the morning, No storm, or wind, just gone. And now that it’s 9, you would think that its time, For it to just come back on.
My brother said, “its the generator,” He was sure that it must have blown. And so we are stuck, without any luck, Until some time unknown.
All of the fans have all stopped turning, And the heat is beginning to rise. It’s too hot in bed, so I get up instead, And dry off my sweaty, wet, thighs.
😫 Gross.
But I’m good. No power, no problem! The wind outside cools me down. I watch the breeze blowing the coconut trees, And enjoy having no kids around (still sleeping.)
The mosquitoes realize something’s different, There’s no fan to blow them away. They assemble the fleet, and fly over to eat, At the free arm and leg blood buffet.
But I’m ready and waiting for the onslaught, With my zapper all ready to go. Each beautiful swing makes it crackle and sing, And they pop like fireworks at a show 😈.
And before you say, “poor mosquitos”, Save it for someone who might care. It’s a war that we fight, with those buggers each night, Ever since the day we got here.
The cistern’s water pump needs power, And the government’s water is a bust. So our water supply, will surely go dry, And we’ll shrivel into sad piles of dust…
😁, Ok a bit much. How about
Our water supply, will surely go dry, So using it well is a must.
But more importantly, there’s no internet! No surfing, snooping, watching, talking, streaming, posting, or wonderfully wasting time online. By hour 4, I can take it no more, And I’m wondering if I will be fine.
NO POWER, NO PROBLEM, I declare it, Because there’s power in the spoken word! I can get through this test, because I am the best at… Oh the power is back, thank you LORD!!!
